Ann Cleeves

Ann Cleeves, born in 1954 in Hereford, England, is one of the most prominent authors in British crime fiction. With more than 35 novels published, she has received numerous awards, including the CWA Diamond Dagger, and has been appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE).

Several of her works have been successfully adapted for television: Vera, starring Brenda Blethyn; Shetland, with Douglas Henshall; and The Long Call, starring Ben Aldridge.

Ann Cleeves’s work combines a deep understanding of human psychology with her love of nature, creating stories that captivate both readers and viewers, and establishing her as a central figure in contemporary mystery literature.
