Julio Castedo

He holds a degree in Medicine and is a specialist in Neuroradiology. He combines his professional work with literature. To date, he has published two essays: Las cien mejores películas del siglo XX and Buen uso del lenguaje en los textos científicos y los informes clínicos; a short story collection, La máscara de mi piel; and a collection of short plays, Terencio.
He is also the author of the novels Apología de Venus, El fotógrafo de cadáveres, and Redención, all of which have received critical acclaim.
His first novel was El jugador de ajedrez (reissued by Booket in 2017), whose film adaptation was set to hit theaters in 2017. In addition to being responsible for the screenplay, Julio Castedo was one of the producers of the film, alongside Gerardo Herrero and Juan Antonio Casado.
